Terms and Conditions

These Terms and Conditions govern your use of Snooze and Lose, a stake-based alarm app operated by Harry Adel. By accessing or using the service, you agree to these terms.

1. The service

Snooze and Lose lets you set alarms, optionally attach a monetary stake to an alarm, and save a payment card that is charged only when a staked alarm is missed. The app is intended for personal use only.

2. Card on file and alarm stakes

• To use stakes you save a payment card once through Paddle. Saving the card creates a $0 plan with Paddle that never bills on its own; there is no subscription fee and nothing is paid up front.
• Using a monetary stake is optional, but a positive stake is required for staked alarms.
• By attaching a stake to an alarm you authorise Snooze and Lose, through Paddle, to charge that stake to your saved card if you fail to dismiss the alarm in time.
• If you dismiss a staked alarm on time, nothing is charged.
• Every staked alarm is tied to an approved charity: the one you pick, or otherwise the default charity. If you fail to dismiss in time, the standard allocation rounds the 20% Snooze and Lose share down to the nearest cent and queues the remainder, at least 80%, for charity payout.
• If you select the full-stake charity commitment, 100% is queued for charity payout and 0% is retained by Snooze and Lose.
• If a lost-stake charge fails, the charge is retried and new stakes are paused until you update your card. Alarms without a stake are unaffected.

3. Payments

• Payments are processed by Paddle as merchant of record.
• Your card details are held by Paddle. We store only Paddle's customer, plan, and transaction identifiers and the status of your saved card.
• Taxes, billing, and payment compliance obligations may be handled by Paddle according to the buyer’s location.

4. Refunds

Lost stakes and completed charity allocations are not reversible except where required by law. A lost-stake charge you dispute as mistaken is reviewed and, where appropriate, refunded through Paddle under the rules on the refund policy page, which also covers accounts that paid up front under the earlier model.

5. Device-based accounts

Snooze and Lose may use device-based or anonymous account identifiers. You are responsible for maintaining access to your device and account. We are not responsible for losses caused by losing access to your device or failing to preserve your account state.

6. Acceptable use

You agree not to misuse the service, interfere with its operation, attempt to access other users’ data, or use the service in violation of applicable law.

7. Disclaimer and limitation of liability

Snooze and Lose is provided on an as-is basis. To the maximum extent permitted by law, Harry Adel is not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the service, including missed appointments, device failures, or payment disputes outside our reasonable control.

8. Changes

We may update these terms from time to time. Continued use of the service after an update means you accept the revised terms.
